I Redding Williams of the State of North Carolina and County of Duplin being of sound mind and memory (unreadable) be God do make and declare this my last will and Testament in manner and form following, that is to say.. First - that my executor herein after named.. Shall provide for my body a decent burial.. and pay all funeral expenses together with my just debts how soever and to whomsoever owing out of the money that may first come in to his hands as a part or parsell (parcel) of my estate Item 2 I give and devise to my son Barachias Bell and my Daughter Mary..Elizer.Bell children of Deborah Bell, deceased all of my Land and my negroes..(unreadable) Chany Lonnou Bosom Silvy Edward and the increase of Chany and Silvy together with my Stock of all Kinds of house hold and Kitchen furniture and every thing that I die (unreadable) (unreadable) (unreadable) of to be equally divided between my above named Son & Daughter and if one of them should die before they arrive at the full age of twenty one years old..The one living is to have all.. Tucker, 23 May 2011. Additional Comments: Will of Reden Williams of Duplin County, NC signed by him on 30 December 1849. The first paragraph has his name spelled "Redding" but he signed it "Reden" and all indications are that this is the correct spelling he used. I made this transcription from a copy of the original (which was hand written) that I obtained from the Department of Cultural Resources, Archives and Records Section, Raleigh, NC 27699-4614.
