First, that my Executors herein after named shall provide for my body a decent burial suitable to the wishes of my relatives and friends out of any money that may come into his hands as a part or parcel of my Estate and pay all my just debts however or to whomsoever owing. Item, I give and bequeath to my daughter Elizabeth LANIER and to each of her children one dollar a piece to each and every of them, also I give to my daughter above named a decent support out of land devised in another item of this my will. Item, I give and bequeath to my daughter Nancy JOHNSON and her children the sum of one dollar to each and every of them. I give and bequeath to my great grand daughter Francis LANIER one bed and furniture one wheel and cart one chest and one table. Item, I give and bequeath to grand son Stephen LANIER and his heirs all my land in Rockfish Township in Duplin County on the East side of Rockfish Creek and bounded by the land of S. A. WILLIAMS, Dec’d, G. W. WARD and others, containing 178 acres more or less including lot No. 2, lately drawn by me from the Estate of my sister Phebe WILLIAMS, deceased to have and to hold to him an his heirs in fee simple forever except the support of his mother Elizabeth LANIER out of the same during her natural life. And lastly I do hereby constitute and appoint my grandson Stephen LANIER my lawful Executor to all interests and purposes to Execute this my Last Will and Testament according to the true interest and meaning of the same, and every part and clause thereof hereby revoking and declaring utterly void all other and former wills, and testaments by one heretofore made in writing, whereof I the said Anna WILSON do hereunto set my hand and seal this the 10th day of May A.D. 1878. Anna (her X mark) WILSON (Seal) Signed, sealed, published and declared but he said Anna WILSON to be her Last Will and Testament in the presence of us who at her anguish and in her presence do subscribe our names as Witness thereto: Bizzell JOHNSTON Stephen WILKINS Duplin County In the Probate Court Before J. D. SOUTHERLAND Judge of Probate In the Matter of the Will of Anna WILSON Stephen LANIER being sworn, doth say that Anna WILSON late of said County is dead having first made and published her last Will and Testament and that said Stephen LANIER is the Executor therein named. Further, that the property of the said Anna WILSON consisting of real estate Estimated at about Eight Hundred Dollars and personal Estate household proper $25 in all is worth about $825 so far as can be ascertained at the date of this application and that Elizabeth LANIER, Stephen LANIER, Bryant LANIER, Nancy LANIER, all of age and residents of Duplin County, and Nancy JOHNSON and her children, whose names are all known, and supposed to be in Florida, and it is also unknown whether they are infants or not, and said Nancy JOHNSON supposed to be dead and the parties entitled under said Will to the said property. Sworn to & subscribed before me this 19th day of August 1878. Stephen LANIER North Carolina Duplin County In the Probate Court August 19th, 1878 The foregoing paper writing purporting to be the Last Will and Testament of Anna WILSON deceased is this exhibited in open Court for Probate by Stephen LANIER the Executor therein named and the due execution of the said paper writing is proved by the Oath and examination of Bissell JOHNSON and Stephen WILKINS the Subscribing witness thereto,w ho being duly sworn say, that they saw the said Anna WILSON sign said paper writing declaring it to be her last Will and Testament, that they attested said paper writing in the presence of and at the request of the said Anna WILSON and at the time of the Execution of the said paper writing by the said Anna WILSON they believe she as of sound and disposing mind and memory. It is therefore considered by the Court that the said paper writing and my part and claim thereof is the Last Will and Testament of said Anna WILSON deceased and the same is ordered to be recorded and filed. And thereupon the said Stephen LANIER, Executor as aforesaid duly qualified as such by taking the Oath prescribed by Law. J. D. SOUTHERLAND, Prob.
