All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/nc/ncfiles.htm ************************************************ File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by: Jacqueline Wilkerson jgwilkerson@embarqmail.com January 11, 2011, 6:56 pm Written: September 14, 1881 Recorded: September 22, 1881 Durham County North Carolina Deed Book 1, Page 39, 40, 41 This Deed Made on this the 14th day of September A D 1881 by Richard Peed and wife Malinda Peed of Granville County and State of North Carolina to C A Peed of Granville County and State of North Carolina witnesseth that for and in consideration of the sum of Two Hundred & Seventy five dollars in hand paid by the said Richard Peed to the party of the first the receipts of which is in full hereby acknowledged the said Richard Peed and wife Malinda Peed hath sold conveyed and delivered and doth hereby bargain sell convey and deliver to the said C A Peed and his heirs a certain tract or parcel of land in Flat River Township in Durham County and State of North Carolina containing 37 thirty seven acres more or less adjoining the lands of William Bowlen Anderson Day & others and others bounded as follows Begining at a Sweet Gum on a branch at a ford John Peeds corner runing thence North 58° [West] with his line 10 chains 40 links to a stake his corner thence with his line North 8 1/2° East 12 chains 30 links to a stone his corner thence his line North 77° west 9 chains to a pile of stones in Days line thence his line South 5° west 7 chains 14 links to a hickory his corner thence North 89 1/2° west 3 chains 30 links to a Stake Thence with his line South 22 chains to a hickory on a branch Thence up the meanders of the branch to the begining To have and to hold said land and improvements and everything belonging or appertaining thereto to him the said C A Peed and his heirs and assigns to him and his only use and behoof And the said Richard Peed and wife Malinda Peed covenant that they have a good and legal title to the above named and described tract or parcel of land and that they will warrant and defend to the said C A Peed and his heirs a good and legal title to said tract or parcel of land against the legal claim or claims of all persons whomsoever In Testimony whereof the said Richard Peed and wife Malinda Peed doth hereunto set their hands and seals the day and date first above written Richard Peed (sl) her Malinda X Peed (sl) mark State of North Carolina Granville County I A M Veazey Justice of the Peace do hereby certify that Richard Peed and Malinda Peed his wife personally appeared before me this day and acknowledged the due execution of the annexed Deed of Conveyance and the said Malinda Peed being by me privately examined separate and apart from her said husband touching her voluntary execution of the same doth state that she signed the same freely and voluntarily without fear or compulsion of her said husband or any other person and that she doth still voluntarily assent thereto Witness my hand and private seal this 17th day of September A D 1881 A M Veazey J P (sl) State of NC Durham County I am satisfied that A M Veazey is an acting Justice of the Peace in Granville County Sept 22nd 1881 M A Angier JP State of No Carolina ) Durham County ) In the Probate Court This certificate of M A Angier a Justice of the Peace in & for Durham County is adjudged to be correct - Let the same be registered with this certificate this 22nd day of Sept 1881 J J Ferrell Probate Judge Filed for registration at 10 Oclock A M Sept 22d 1881 Additional Comments: et al: Richard Peed and Malinda Peed File at: http://files.usgwarchives.net/nc/durham/deeds/peed632gdd.txt This file has been created by a form at http://www.genrecords.org/ncfiles/ File size: 4.2 Kb
