The Durham Recorder, Durham, North Carolina, Wednesday, August 4, 1886 1886
  By virtue of a mortgage executed March 13th,
1878, by James Bancom and wife to Elizabeth Ban-
bee: a mortgage executed by same parties January
23rd, 1880, to Paschal Barbee, and a mortgage exe-
cuted by same parties July 1st, 1885, to Dorah
Weatherspoon, I will sell at public auction at the
Court House door in Durham, on Saturday the 4th
DAY OF SEPTEMBER 1886 that valuable planta-
tion in Patterson Township in said county, known
as "the Jones Harward Home Place," and contain-
ing 186 acres, more or less, it being the late resi-
dence of said Bancom.
  Time of sale-12 o'clock m.
  Terms of sale-Cash
  This July 9th, 1886
