Atkins, of Durham Durham, July 10 - Donah Josiah Atkins, a popular young druggist, died at Watts Hospital last evening, his death being from typhoid fever. He had been ill for two weeks and his condition was not considered serious until about twenty-four hours before his death. The funeral and burial took place at Berea Baptist church, some eight miles south of the city, this afternoon at 3:30 o'clock. the interment was in the family burying place and he was laid to rest with the honors of the Elks, he being a member of Durham Lodge No. 568. The Elks attended in body. The funeral service was conducted by C.J. Thompson, pastor of the First Baptist Church. Mr. Atkins was 27 years of age and the son of Mr. and Mrs. Josiah Atkins, who live some ten miles from Durham. He was educated at the University, came here and since then has been working at his profession, a pharmacist. He left his father and mother and three brothers, two of whom live in Durham.
