Edward Ernest Goodwin died January 8 at N.C. Baptist Hospital
He was 70
A native of Durham
Employed by Duke Power Company, 38 years and was area manager in Mocksville
He was past master of Mocksville Masonic Lodge and served as president of the
Chamber of Commerce 
and Mocksville Rotary Club
He was active in forming the Industrial Development Commission
Member of Oasis Shrine and Mocksville First Presbyterian Church and served as deacon
of the church
Educated in Durham public schools and played professional baseball with Durham Bulls
and other 
minor league teams
Funeral: Conducted January 11 in Mocksville First Presbyterian Church
Officiating: Rev. Leland Richardson
Burial: Rose Cemetery with Masonic rites
Survivors: wife, Mrs. Roberta Donaho Goodwin
1 daughter, Ms. Susan Goodwin Eaton of Mocksville
1 son, Edward Kevin Goodwin of Hillsborough
1 sister, Mrs. Lillian Morgan of Burlington
4 grandchildren
