Assistant Superintendent of Liggett and Myers Tobacco Company Storage Department 
for the past several years, but, with Liggett and Myers for 37 years
Died Saturday afternoon at Watts Hospital, after several months of illness
Services: This morning, 11 am at Duke Memorial Methodist Church
Officiating: Rev. Vergil E. Queen, pastor of the church and Rev. Edgar B. Fisher 
of Burlington, former  pastor
Interment: New Section of Maplewood Cemetery
Active Pallbearers: W. R. Gattis, Wade Boone, Horace Fowlers, J. A. Ragan, W. M.
Eakes, Harry Umstead, Guy Walker and J. A. Ward
Honorary Pallbearers: Members of the Pastor's Aid Class of Duke Memorial Church,
foremen of the Liggett and Myers storage department, blending department and
stemmery, and Dr. William Watkins, Dr. James Wilson, the Rev. John Cline, T. R.
Moize and Watson Coleman
Born in Durham County, February 27, 1901
Son of J. Samuel Proctor and Mollie Garrard Proctor
Educated in Durham County Schools and Trinity College (now Duke University)
Former member of the board of stewards of Duke Memorial Methodist Church and 
a member of the Pastor's Aid Class of the Sunday School
Survivors: Wife, the former Gladys Vickers of Durham; 1 daughter, Martha Proctor; 
1 son, Ray Proctor, both of Durham; 1 sister, Mrs. Ruby Brown of Durham and 
several uncles and aunts
