 Betty Simpson Wilkins

 Mrs. Betty Ruth Simpson Wilkins, 69, of 2907 Duke Homestead Rd., died Sunday 
evening  May 6, 2001 at Durham Regional Hospital. Mrs. Wilkins was born in 
Kannapolis, N.C., the daughter of the late John Calvin and Edith Sims Simpson. 
She was a member of Grey Stone Baptist Church. Mrs. Wilkins was preceded in 
death by her husband, Bobby Wilkins.
 Mrs. Wilkins is survived by a daughter, Deborah Boykin and husband, Johnny, 
of Durham; a sister, Joyce Simpson Porterfield, of Durham; a brother, David 
Simpson, of Stem; and two grandchildren, Josh Boykin, of Durham, and Katie 
Boykin, of Wilmington.
 Funeral service will be held Wednesday 11 a.m. at Clements Funeral Chapel in 
Durham with Dr. Malbert Smith, Jr. officiating. The family will receive 
friends Tuesday evening from 7 to 9 at Clements Funeral Home in Durham and at 
other times at the home of her daughter, Deborah Boykin, 120 November Dr., 
Durham. Flowers are acceptable or memorial contributions may be made to the 
American Cancer Society, 620 W. Morgan St., Raleigh, N.C. 27603.
