DURHAM COUNTY, NC - OBITUARIES - James Clinton Wilkins, Jr., 3 Jun 2001 ----¤¤¤¤---- Mr. James "Jim" Clinton Wilkins Jr., age 72, a resident of 5323 N. Highland Dr., died early Sunday morning at Triangle Hospice Meadowlands. He was the son of the late James Clinton Wilkins Sr. and Lillie Woods Wilkins. Mr. Wilkins was born in Johnston Co. and served in the U.S. Navy as a hospital corpsman. Mr. Wilkins was employed with AT&T for 36 years as a craftsman and with Durham Regional Hospital for five years before retiring. He was an avid Duke sports fan and a lifetime member of the Iron Duke Club. Mr. Wilkins was a member of the Bragtown Lions Club and served as past president. Surviving are his wife, Lois Godwin Wilkins; daughter, Joy Wilkins Vollers of Bahama; son, Dan Wilkins of Rougemont; sisters, Leone Johnson of Aiken, S.C., and Maxine Seawell of Selma; brother, Seth Wilkins of Welake, Fla.; grandchildren, Dana Wilkins, Dylan Wilkins, Brad Vollers, and Britney Rigsbee; and numerous loving nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be conducted Tuesday 2 p.m. at Clements Funeral Chapel. The family will receive friends Monday evening 7 to 9 at Clements Funeral Home in Durham.
