Edgecombe County, NC - Cemeteries File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by Charlotte Beck James Bynum Graveyard Hwy 124 near crossroads at NC 111 Macclesfield NC Edgecombe County Information provided by Charlotte Varnell Beck. January 1, 2001 My ancestors owned this farm at one time. A black family owned the farm next to it. For some reason or another, the families decided to switch farms. While doing research on my family tree (Varnell), I decided to record the information in this graveyard, located in a field near the old home my Great Grandfather was born in. The people buried here are of African American Descent. Alonzo Terrell B 9-17-1921 D 8-12-1977 Fred L. Wooten SGT 4209 QM Service WWII June 1924- Mar 12, 1953 I do not have any personal information concerning this graveyard and the relationship of the people there. There are at least 5 or 6 unmarked graves at this location. The unmarked ones are cemented over graves with no gravestone or the type where the paper has dissolved. James Bynum (buried here) has a living son named James Bynum who probably still owns this property. Sorry I cannot provide more information. ============================================================== USGENWEB NOTICE: In keeping with our policy of providing free information on the Internet, data may be used by non-commercial entities, as long as this message remains on all copied material.
