Edgecombe County, N.C. - Abisha Williams Cemetery ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Abisha Williams Cemetery This is a small cemetery located on the East Side of Temperance Hall Road about 1-1/2 miles South of Route 43. It is along the edge of the woods about 700 feet from the road. The tombstones appear to have recently replaced with all new similar stones and a chain inside white PVC pipe is draped in front of the cemetery. The following inscriptions are on the tombstones. 1. Father Abisha Williams Born Nov 17, 1822 Died March 4, 1900 "Kind father of Love. Thou art gone to thy rest" 2. Our Mother Amanda Williams Born July 22, 1829 died Nov 29, 1897 "Kind mother of Love. Thou art gone to thy rest" 3. Maggie R. Williams Born and Died Oct 4, 1881 "Gone but not forgotten" 4. Our Brother Samuel J T Williams Age 22 years "May he find joy in the life everlasting" 5. Lizzina D. Williams Born June 12, 1878 Died Sept 10, 1880 "Gone but not forgotten" 6. W.J. Williams Born Feb 8, 1871 died June 18, 1874 "Gone but not forgotten" 7. Andrew Williams Born and Died Oct 18, 1886 "Gone but not forgotten" 8. Our Sister Nangie Gore Born Nov 16, 1848 Died May 15, 1871 "How sweet to think of her in her new home" 9. Jessie L.
