STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA             COURT OF PLEAS & QUARTER SESSIONS,
Edgecombe County                    May Term, 1807

JAMES CROSS and WINNIFRED, his wife, Complainants

                                    Vs.

THOMAS CROSS, JAMES MILES, LUCY MILES, widow of JOHN MILES,  DAVID MILES, 
MATTHEW MILES, POLLY MILES, THOMAS MILES, HEZEKIAH MILES and ISRAEL MILES, 
Defendants

It appearing to the satisfaction of the Court that the defendants, except 
THOMAS MILES, are not inhabitants of this State. It is therefore ordered by 
the Court that publication be made for three weeks in the Raleigh Minerva, 
that unless the said Defendants appear at our next Court to be held for the 
County of Edgecombe, in the Court House at Tarboro’, on the 4th Monday in 
August next then and there to answer the Bill of Claimants, it shall be taken 
pro confesso.
