Deed Book 39; page 305. State of North Carolina, Edgecombe County. This Indenture made this the 12th day of January in the year of our lord, one thousand eight hundred and seventy six, between Nancy Long, William Weaver and wife Mourning Weaver and Hines Proctor and wife Francis C. Proctor all of the first part and John D. Boseman of the second part all of the county and state above written. Witnesseth that the said parties of the first part for and in consideration of the sum of three hundred dollars($300) in hand paid by the said part of the second part the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged have granted bargained and sold and by these presents doth grant bargain and sell unto the said parties of the second part his heirs and assigns, a certain piece or parcel of land situated in the county of Edgecombe and state of No. Ca. and bounded as follows (towit) beginning at H. S. Taylors corner, B. W. Barnes line thence north 1/2(?) east to the run of Tyan Cokey swamp thence up the various courses of said swamp to a stake corner of lot No. 2, thence south 1/2(?) west 92 poles to a stake on the Tarboro Road thence down said road to H. S. Taylors corner, thence north to H. S. Taylor's corner thence along said Taylors line east to the first station containing forty acres of land more or less. Together with the appurtenances thereunto belonging and all the estate right title interest claim and demand of the said parties of the first part herein and the said parties of the first part either in law or equity of in and to the above bargained promises and every part and parcel of land thereof to have and to hold to the said party of the second part his heirs and assigns forever to have and to hold to his own purpose and use benefit and behoof of the said party of the second part his heirs and assigns and the said parties of the first part shall and will warrant and forever defend. In witness whereof the said parties of the first have hereunto set their hand and affixed their seal this day month and year first written. Signed sealed and delivered in} presents of Feuner M. C. Weaver, Mourning Weaver, H B Proctor & Francis C. Proctor was this the 22nd day of January 1876 proven before me by the oath, and examination of Feuner M C Gay, the subscribing witness thereunto, and therefor Mourning Weaver the wife of W D Weaver and Francis C Proctor the wife of H B Proctor being by me privately examined apart from their said respective husbands touching their voluntary consent thereto, each for herself, acknowledged that they executed the said Deed freely and without fear or compulsion of their said husband respectively and do now voluntarily assent thereto.
