1849, Thomas Curl to Benjamin G. Braswell --- whereas the late Robert 
R. Braswell as administrator of Redmond Curl under order of the Court 
of Pleas and Quarters Feb. Term 1848 sold to Thomas Curl land described 
herein — whereas said Robert R. died leaving a will and testament 
before receiving the money for land and where Blake Williford was 
afterward appointed administrator of said Redmond Curl and it was 
decreed by said Aug. Ct. 1848 that he should make title of land to said 
Thomas Curl and he has, whereas it is believed that the estate of 
Robert R. is liable to account for the purchase money for said lands 
and it was agreed between said Robert and said Thomas that the said 
Robert would accept the said land for the purchase money and advance 
the same himself which contract was not carried out on account of the 
death of said Robert R and whereas the said Thomas is unable to pay the 
purchase money for said land, it has been agreed between the said 
Thomas and Benjamin G. Braswell, executor for said Robert R. that 
Thomas would be released from his liability for the purchase money upon 
his conveying the said land to Benjamin, in trust for the use of 
persons entitled to same under the will of said Robert R., land which 
lies on the south or left side of road leading from Tarboro to Raleigh 
with the exception of what is conveyed in the dower of Sarah Curl, 
widow of said Redmond Curl, containing about 100 acres, signed Thomas

Oates Gay in the sum of $66.53 and to the same by two notes payable to

said Orren P. afterwards resold said tract to the said Blake & hath not 
executed any deed thereof to said Blake, and whereas said Blake by deed 
dated 10 Sep 1847 did convey unto William Norfleet of said county the 
said lands in trust for certain purposes therein mentioned, which deed 
is recorded in Db 24, page 292, and whereas the said William advertised
