Co. Db 25, page 358, date of deed Aug. 27, 1851, date recorded 9 Sept 1851, Henry W. Armstrong of Edge. Co. to Robert Johnson of Edge. Whereas by virtue of a deed & trust executed by Gabriel E. Armstrong to Moses Baker, trustee for certain purposes therein named & which is of record in the Registers office of Edgecombe County the said Moses Baker as trustee did after due advertisement expose to public sale for the highest bidder on 28th day of October 1847 a certain tract or parcel of land lying in Edgecombe County & on the north side of Town Creek & bounded as follows to wit beginning at an oak on the road James H. Armstrong's corner then along his line south 245 poles to a gum in own Creek at the mouth of a ditch then down the various courses of said creek to William J. Armstrong's corner then along his line to the same road & across said road to the other road leading towards Rocky Mount then along the various courses of said road to the corner of the land claimed by Duncan Flowers heirs then along there line to James H. Armstrong's corner then along his line to the first named road between his house & the house Gabriel E. Armstrong on said land then up said road to the first station containing by estimation two hundred & eight acres more or less at which sale William J. Armstrong became the last & highest bidder in the sum of eight hundred & forty dollars. Now for and in consideration of the sum of eight hundred & forty dollars to the said Moses Baker in hand paid by the said William J. Armstrong before the sealing & delivery of these presents the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged himself fully paid and satisfied the said Moses Baker as trustee doth hereby bargain sell convey & confirm unto the said William J. Armstrong his heirs & assigns forever all the right title claim interest or demand of Gabriel E. Armstrong in the aforesaid tract or parcel of land with all the apertainanaces therein belonging or in any wise apertaining thereunto to have & to hold to the said William J. Armstrong his heirs & assigns in as full & ample a manner as he the said Moses Baker is empowered by being trustee to convey & assign the same & fourth the said Moses Baker as trustee doth hereby covenant promise & grant to & with the said William J. Armstrong his heirs executors administrators & assigns shall & may from time to time & at all times hereafter have hold occupy possess & enjoy the said premises with the apertainanaces free & clear of & from all imcumberances he made done or committed by him the said Moses Baker trustee or by his 93 words) & he the said Moses Baker will warrant & defend the same to the said William J.
