1859, David Williams to Francis M. Garrett and others of the third 
part, for David Williams for "natural love and affection for his 
daughter Delha the wife of F.M. Garrett" and the sum of one dollar, a 
tract of land on both sides of Griffin's Swamp adjoining the lands of 
Elijah Neville, Joseph J. Garrett, and others containing 320, it being 
a tract of land sold by John F. Speight to Joseph J. Garrett & F.M. 
Garrett and by them sold to David Williams and better description is in 
deeds of parties aforesaid, land is to held in special trust for the 
use of his wife, Delah and after her death for the use of the said F.M. 
Garrett during his own life and after his death, to the children of 
said Delha and if any child of the said Delha shall die bearing a 
child, said child shall take in the place of his or her parent, signed

Apr 1859, Arthur C. Smith and wife, Frances, New Hanover Co., NC to 
Thomas J. Armstrong, the same place, Frances Smith as one of the heirs 
at law of Dr. P.S. Suggs, dec'd is entitled to an interest in all the 
real estate of which the said P.S. Suggs died seized and possessed 
consisting of a small tract of land in Edge. Co. and the large tract on 
which he resided at the time of his death containing about 1562 acres 
and one other tract in the county of Pitt called the Penny Hill Tract, 
all which land has been sold those entitled to the same in obedience to 
decree granted upon petition filed in court at the fall term 1856 and 
the other at March term 1857, Arthur C. Smith and wife, Frances for $10 
and further consideration, sell all land above mentioned and their
