Webb-1917 File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by Jo Webb STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA} COUNTY OF EDGECOMBE} This Deed made and entered into by and between The Pinetops Sash and Blind Company a corporation under and by virtue of the laws of said State party of the first part and S S WEBB party of the second part. WITNESSETH: That the said party of the first part hath bargained and sold and for and in consideration of the sum of ($625.00) Six Hundred Twenty-five (00/100) Dollars in hand paid to the party of the first part by the said party of the second part and the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged doth by these presents bargain, sell, alien grant and convey unto the said SS WEBB party of the second part unto him and his heirs in fee forever. TO-WIT: One certain parcel or lot of land situate in the Town of Pinetops State and County aforesaid and described as follows; Beginning at a stake on Third street one hundred feet from the North East corner of Third and Dunn streets and running with Third street North one hundred (100) feet thence East one hundred feet, thence South one hundred feet thence West one hundred fifty (150) to Third street and the beginning and being lots C and D in Square 8 of the plot and survey of the Town of Pinetops and being apart of the lands conveyed to the Pinetops Sash and Blind Company by the Macclesfield Company which deed will be found registered in Edgecombe County register Book No. 140 on page 191 to which reference is given for further description. And the said party of the first part for itself and its successors covenants to and with the said party of the second part his heirs and assigns that it will fully warrant and protect the said party of the second part as aforesaid in the peaceful and quiet possession of the said premises against the lawful claims of any person whatsoever. In Testimony Whereof the said party of the first part hath caused its President to excute this deed and its Secretary to witness same and affix the seal of the said Company hereto on this the 23rd day of October 1917.
