Edgecombe County, NC - Deed & Land Records File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by Helen Sharpe DEED BETWEEN SIMON EDWARDS & LEMON EDWARDS EDGECOMBE COUNTY DEED BOOK 14, Page 92 & 93 Dated 25 July 1811 This indenture made this twenty fifth of July 1811, in the year of our lord one thousand eight hundred and eleven between SIMON EDWARDS of the county of Edgecombe and state of North Carolina of the one part and LEMON EDWARDS of the said county and state aforesaid of the other part witness that I the said SIMON EDWARDS for and in the consideration of the sum of one hundred and forty five silver dollars to him in hand paid by said Lemon Edwards the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged myself fully satisfied contented and paid have by these presents bargained, sold, alined, offered, confirmed and by these presents doth absolutely sell unto him the aforesaid Lemon Edwards one certain tract or parcel of land lying and being situated in the county aforesaid county of Edgecombe and bounded as follows viz. Beginning at a pine said EDWARDS own corner in the head of a small branch called by the name of JAMES SPROUT thence down the various courses of said branch to JOHNS BRANCH to the mouth of the middle prong of said JOHNS BRANCH then up the various courses of the said Middle prong to a large white oak on the south side of the said branch the corner of the land AMOS JOHNSTON lately sold to said SIMON EDWARDS then nearly south along the said Edwards line to the first station containing by estimation NINETY ACRES of land be the same more or less. To have and to hold the aforesaid Ninety Acres of land with all the appurtenances thereunto belonging or any ways appertaining unto him the aforesaid Simon Edwards his heirs and assigns forever and I the said Simon Edwards for my self, my heirs, executors, administrators doth covenant and agree so and with the said Lemon Edwards his heirs and assigns to warrant and defend the title and claims of the above bargained premises unto him the said Lemon Edwards his heirs and assigns forever clear and free from the lawful claim property or demand of all and every person or persons whatsoever.
