Edgecombe Precinct Nov Ct 1732, Richard Jackson, Bertie, to (Thomas 
Haynes), precinct aforesaid for 15 pds VA, a tract of 90 acres in 
Bertie Precinct in the (?? Elk Marsh) on the south side of Moratuck 
River beginning at a red oak(by) the marsh side then north 22 east 160 
poles to a red oak then (north 46 west) 160 poles to a red oak then 
south 100 poles to a sweet gum by the marsh side to the first station, 
being granted to Richard Jackson by patent dated 1668, signed Richd 
Jackson, (Richard Haynesworth), (Sylestie Diguenne), (Robt. Lang)(X).

Ct 1732, Robert Long and, wife, Eleanor Long, Edgecombe Precinct to 
(Jos Lewis), for 36 pds VA, a tract containing by patent 525 acres on 
the south side of Moratock River and on the north side of the Upper Elk 
Marsh dated 13 Feb 1732 beginning at a white oak on the north side of 
Elk Marsh then east 20 north 250 poles to a red oak then south 20 east 
320 poles to a red oak then (west 20 south) 260 poles to a white oak 
stake in the marsh then south to the first station, signed Robt Long 
(mark), Elinor Long (NOTE middle initial W could by mark), wit Samuel

Ct 1732, John Scot to Alexander Wright for 3 pds 8 shillings Province 
bills, a tract of 50 acres of land being part of a tract granted to me 
for 450 acres between (the line) Robert Humphries and my own back line 
joining upon Henry Griffis head line being the same land that I 
formerly bargained with (Barthw ??) signed John Scot, wit Jas Millikin,

Ct 1733), Thomas Todd, planter, Edge. Precinct to John Brown, planter, 
precinct aforesaid for 5 pds silver, a tract of 112 acres on the north 
side of Tar River beginning at a cypress in the (branch) on the south 
side of Swift Creek and running the various courses mentioned in the 
patent granted for said land, signed Thomas Todd (X), wit J. Dewards,

Ct 1733, John Holly and Eliza his ( ) wife, Upper Parish of Bertie 
Precinct, planter to Jas Millikin, same place, merchant for 65 pds, a 
tract of 610 acres where said John and Eliza now live being granted to 
said John Holly by patent dated 1 Mar 1719, beginning at the center of 
two hickories and a red oak (Wm B??) and Nathn Holly's corner then 
along (B?) line south 8 west 312 poles to another of (B?) corners to 
two hickories & red oak then a continued course 120 poles to a ( ) 
white oak in (Wm B) line then south 10 east 150 poles to a pine in Wm 
Ledbetter's corner then along his line south 5 west 40 poles to a red 
oak Geo Smith's corner then along his line 320 poles to a white another 
of Smith's corners then a continued course 64 poles to a white oak 
Nathn Holly's line then his line to the first station, signed John 
Holly, Mary Holley, (X), wit J. Edwards, (R.   F), Jno Bryan.

 Edge. Co (Halifax) Db 1, page 54, deed date 15 Feb 1732/3, recorded 
(Feb Ct 1733), (John Scot), Edgecombe Precinct to Henry Goff and Mary, 
his wife, same place for 4 pds, a tract on the south side of Conoconary 
Swamp beginning at a red oak and running (westwardly) 100 poles to 
another red oak and then northerly (76) poles to another red oak then 
eastwardly 200 poles to a hickory then south a straight line to the 
first tree, containing 100 acres being part of a tract of 450 acres 
which said John Scot had (         ), signed John Scot, Elizabeth Scot, 
Wm Anderson, George (     ).  "The above deed from John and Elizabeth 
Scot to Henry Goff" was proved by the oath of Wm Anderson.  (NOTE: Mary 
may have been wife of John Scot, not Henry Goff, deed hard to read and

Ct 1749, Richard Lee to Arthur Lee for love and affection I bear my 
son, 200 acres near Town Creek joining Thomas Parker, Richard Lee & a 
branch being part of the land whereon I now live and part of my patent 
dated 25 July 1748, signed Richard Lee, wit Thomas Dixon, Timothy Lee,
