Edgecombe County, NC - J.R. & Treacy Harrell to M.T. Harrell, 1920 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ North Carolina Edgecombe County This deed made this 12th day of January 1920, by J. R. Harrell and his wife, Treacy Harrell, party of the first part, to M. T. Harrell, party of the second part, all of the said State and County. Witnesseth: That the said party of the first part for and in consideration of the sum of Seven Thousand Dollars in hand paid and secured to be paid by the party of the second part, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, the said J. R. Harrell and his wife Treacy Harrell have given, granted bargained and sold , aliened and conveyed and do by these presents give, grant, bargain and sell and alien and convey unto the said M. T. Harrell, his heirs and assigns, the following described tract or parcel of land, to wit: That certain tract parcel of land situate and being in No. 10 Township, aforesaid State and County, and more particularly described as follows: Being tract No. (3) Three as shown on the plot of the Bynum Farm duly recorded in Plot Book No. 1 at page 91 of the Edgecombe County Registry, as survey by G. B. Dutrow, Civil Engineer, containing 46.3 acres, more or less, and being the identical tract of parcel of land conveyed to the said J. R. Harrell by the Macclesfield Company by deed duly recorded in Book 192, page 443 Edgecombe County Registry, to all of which reference is hereby made for a more full and perfect description thereof. To have and to hold the above mentioned and described tract or parcel of land with all the privileges and appurtenances thereunto belonging, unto the said M. T. Harrell his heirs and assigns to their only use and be hoof in fee simple forever. And the said party of the first part covenants to and with the said party of the second part, that he is seized in fee of the above described premises and has a right to convey the same in fee simple, that the same is free and clear of any encumbrances whatsoever and that he will forever warrant and defend the title to the same against the lawful claims of all persons whomsoever.
