Edgecombe County, NC - Harrell to Cobb, Reason & Clark, 1920 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ North Carolina Edgecombe County This deed made this the 24th day of January 1920, by J. R. Harrell and his wife Treacy Harrell, party of the first part, to W. E. Cobb, J. V. Cobb, W. L. Reason and W. J. Clark, party of the second part, all of said State and County. Witnesseth: That the said party of the first part for and in consideration of the sum of Six Thousand Five Hundred Dollars and other good and valuable consideration hereunto moving, in hand paid by the party of the second part, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, the said J. R. Harrell and his wife Treacy Harrell have given granted bargained and sold, aliened and conveyed and do by these presents give grant, bargain and sell alien and convey unto the said W. E. Cobb, J. V. Cobb, W. L. Reason and W. J. Clark, as tenants in common, their heirs and assigns, the following described real and personal property to wit: That certain lot or parcel of land lying and being situate in the Town of Pinetops No. 10 Township, aforesaid State and County and more particularly described as follows: Beginning at a stake on First Street, Southeast corner of Square No. 4 thence running northwardly with First Street 150 feet cornering, thence southwardly parallel with First Street 150 feet to Sater Street cornering, thence eastwardly with Sater Street 150 feet to the beginning being lots J, K, and L in square No. 4 of the plot and survey of the said Town of Pinetops, and being the identical tract or parcel of land conveyed to the said J. R. Harrell by W. L. Dunn and wife Maud Dunn by deed duly recorded in Book 167 at page 577 Edgecombe County Registry, to which reference is hereby made. Also all the saw mill and ginning machinery, boilers, tools equipment and appliances, including tow mules and two carts, now situated on the above described and conveyed real estate and connected with the said saw mill and ginning outfit. To Have And To Hold the above mentioned and described real estate and personal property, together with all the rights, privileges and appurtenances thereunto belonging, unto the said W. E. Cobb, J. V. Cobb, W. L. Reason, W. J. Clark as tenants in common, their heirs and assigns, to their only use and behoof in fee simple. And the said party of the first part covenant to and with the said party of the second part, that he is seized of said premises in fee and has a right to convey the same in fee simple, that the same are free from, and clear of any and all encumbrances and that he will forever warrant and defend the title to name against the lawful claim of all persons whomsoever.
