This indenture made this twenty eight day of July in the year of our Lord one thousand Eight hundred and thirty one between Richard Hoket of the County of Edgcombe and State of North Carolina of the one part and Wilie Howard son of Stephen Howard of the other part. Witnesseth that the said Richard Hoket as will for an inconsideration of the natural love and affection which he hath and bearith unto the said Wilie Howard as also for the better mintannance and bringing up and perfurment of the said Wilie Howard hath given granted alinid in poessd confirmed and coveyed and by these presants doth give grant alins in confirm and covey unto him the said Wilie Howard all that message or tinnement of land whereon Stephen Howard now lives lying and being situate in the said County of Edgcombe and State aforesaid and on the East side of Ward run and bounded as follows: Begining at a pine Jacob Kails corner then East to a lightwood tree Battle corner then nearly north with Battle line to a pine at corner in said line thence West to a pine in Jacob Kails line thence South with Kails line to the first Station containing ninety acres of Land be the same more or less to have and to hold with all the apurtenances and privileges thereunto belonging or in any way appertaining unto him the said Wilie Howard his heirs Executors administrators and assigns and I the said Richard Hoket for myself my heirs executors administrators will forever warrant secure and defend the right title claim and intrist of the above given Land and primisis unto him the said Wilie Howard his heirs and assigns clear and free from the lawful claimes property or demand of all and every person or persons whatsoever in Witness whereof I have here unto set my hand and fixed my seal the day and year first above written.
