Edgecombe County Courthouse, Tarboro, North Carolina Deed Book C Page 186 1764 To all people to whom these presents shall come granting knowledge that I, David Mote of Edgecombe County in the province of North Carolina for and in consideration of the sum of twenty pounds proclamation money of North Carolina to him in hand ready paid by the said James Boseman of the same county and province aforesaid, the receipt whereof I do acknowledge and am fully satisfied contented have given granted bargained sold confirm do enfeoff(?) confirmed unto the said James Boseman a certain tract or parcel of land containing by estimation fifty acres lying on the north side of Town Creek adjoining said Boseman's line beginning at red oak in said Boseman's line to along this line to a corner pine so along said certain line join county road to corner red oak so up to said road to a corner red oak so along a line of marked trees to the first station to have and to hold the said tract or parcel of land containing fifty acres more or less it being part of a tract of land held by __?__ granted from Howell Mote together with all the houses building orchards and confen(?) lumber and lumber trees thereon standing lying or growing with all woods waters and water courses with all properties commons ___?___ and appurtenances to ye same belonging or in any wise appertaining unto ye said James Boseman his heirs and assigns forever and the said David Mote doth for himself his heirs executors and administrators and assigns grant covenant promises and agree to and with the said James Boseman his heirs and assigns that David Mote at the ensealing and delivery of these presents doth acknowledge that the said James Boseman hath good right and authority shall dispose of same as ye said David Mote ever did might or could have __?__before the making hereof and hath full power and lawful authority to bargain sell and dispose of ye same and the said James Boseman his heirs and assigns forever against his heirs and assigns and the said David Mote doth further engage on behalf of himself his heirs executors administrators to warrant and secure and defend the said land and premises unto the said James Boseman his heirs and assigns free from the claims of my heirs and assigns in witnesseth whereof the said David Mote hath hereunto set his hand and fixed his seal this first week first day of February in the year of our lord god one thousand, seven hundred and sixty four.
