Witnesseth that for and in consideration of the sum of Fifty pounds to me in hand paid by the said Richard Hocott, the receipt whereof I hereby acknowledge myself therewith satisfied and contented, I do hereby bargain sell and deliver unto the said Hocott a certain parcel of Land lying and being in the county of Edgcombe and state of North Carolina, Beginning at a Hickory in David Woodwards line thence along a line to James Barnes line then along said line to a corner then along a line of marked trees to said Woodwards corner a fence then to the first Station containing by estimation one hundred acres be the same more or less and the said Benjamin Thomas will for myself, my heirs and assigns, forever warrant and defend against the lawful claim of all manners of persons whatsoever unto the said Richard Hocott, his heirs and assigns forever.
