Carolina and County of Edgcomb of the one part and Richard Hokett of the County and State afforesaid of the other part Witness that the said William Woodard of an inconsideration of the sum of two hundred and forty three Dollars and seventy five cents to me in hand paid at or before the sealing or delivery of these presents the receipt whereof I hereby acknowledge that I have granted bargened sold and conveid and by these presents doth bargain sell and convey unto the said Richard Hokett and his heirs a certain track or parcel of Land Situate in the County afforesaid and on the North side of little Contentna. Begining at a hickory then along Willie Ellis line to a sweetgum in little contentna a corner tree then up the various corses of the said contentna creek to White oak a corner tree then along a line of marked trees to corner pine on the road then the road to the first station containing ninty seven and a half acres be the same more or less I the said William Woodard do warrant and forever defend the rite title and claim unto the said Richard Hokett and his Heirs forever in Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand seal this day and date above riten.
