He served two months as second sergeant in Captain Jones Company under command of Colonel Whitaker on the North Carolina line. In 1781, he reenlisted as a private in Captain Malachi Mann's Company under Colonel Henry Hart's Regiment. From August 1, 1781 he spent an additional six weeks as private in Captain Mann's Company, commanded by Col. Hart. He moved from Edgecombe County to Wake County, North Carolina where he lived about 20 years. Then he moved to Anson, N.C. He was granted pension on his application executed in Anson 9 October, 1832. TOMLINSON was born in Sussex County, Va. about 1749. No additional family data has been recorded in the application.
