After lingering for a short time and suffering agonies from his burns caused by the explosion of a gasoline tank on the grounds of the Pinetops elementary school, Lawrence Gardner passed away last night at 6 o'clock. His death marks the third casualty from this tank explosion. The remains were taken to the home of his parents last night. As long as life was in his little tortured body he remained quiet and apparently resigned to his fate. He was a bright, promising young lad and his death has cast another cloud of sorrow over the entire county, and the Southerner extends to his grieved parents and friends its heartfelt sympathy.
