THAD W. SODEN

  ROCKY MOUNT – Thad W. Soden, 71, well known local partner in Rocky Mount’s 
oldest continuous business for many years, died Tuesday May 28, at his home, 
1116 Tarboro Street.

  He was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. William Soden II, and he retired 
from business in 1970.

  Mr. Soden was a retired volunteer fireman, member of the Edgemont Baptist 
Church, member of the local elks Lodge, member of the American Association of 
Retired People and member of the retired men’s club.

  Surviving are a brother Harry Soden of Ricky Mount; four nieces and four 
nephews.

  Funeral services were conducted Thursday, May 30th, at 11 a.m. at Gay-Yost 
Funeral Chapel by the Rev. Richard T. Davis and burial was in Pineview 
Cemetery.
