	Braswell, Richard, Edgecombe Co., date of will 7 Dec 1767, Feb Ct. 
1772, “being in good health and of perfect sense and sound mind and 
memory”... Item- to my son Sampson Braswell a tract of land containing 50 
acres beginning at a white oak his corner on Tar River then a direct course 
to a new marked poplar standing at or near the Nauhuntee path then along the 
said path to my back line then down the back line to the said Sampson’s line 
then along this line to the white oak the first station; Item- to my son 
Solomon all the remainder of my land and plantation whereon he now dweleth; 
Item- all the remainder of my estate which I have not already given away I 
lend to my loving wife during her natural life or widowhood & after her death 
or marriage the aforesaid estate which I have lent my wife Elizabeth to be 
equally divided among all my children that is now living, to them and their 
heirs; Item- to my son Richard five shillings; Item- my son James five 
shillings; Item- to my son William five shillings; Item- to my daughter Sarah 
five shillings; Item- to my daughter Mary five shillings; Item- to my 
daughter Elizabeth five shillings; Item- I appoint my loving wife Elizabeth 
and my son James executors; signed Richd. Braswell (R), wit. Thomas Bryant, 
Wm. Sharrod, (     ) Fort (mark), Samson Dillard, James Gray.  Proved by oath 
of Thomas Bryant and James Gray, and Elizabeth Braswell and James Braswell 
qualified as executors.  Abstracted from copy of original, NC Archives
