Written: 1897

	Braswell, Winnifred Frances, Edgecombe Co., will date 1 May 1895, date 
recorded 21 May 1897, “being of sound mind and memory”... Item-  for the love 
and esteem I have for W.P. Mercer and Jesse Proctor, I give them all my 
property real and personal as follows: Item 1- to W.P. Mercer all my land 
lying on the west side of the Temperance Hall and Rocky Mount road, bounded 
on the north side by George F. Braswell’s Path, said path running on the 
southern boundary of the four acre piece of land belonging to Red Braswell’s 
children, on the east by the Temperance Hall and Rocky Mount Road, on the 
south and on the west by lands belonging to W.P. Mercer and others; Item- I 
give to W.P. Mercer all my land lying on the east side of the Temperance Hall 
and Rocky Mount Road adjoining the lands of (Mrs) Nannie Mercer, Jesse 
Proctor, and others; Item- I give to Jesse Proctor all the remainder of my 
property real and personal, what so ever except the proceeds from the sale of 
such timber as is grown on the land or lands given to W.P. Mercer in Items 
one and two, said proceeds I give to W.P. Mercer; Item- I appoint W.P. Mercer 
executor; signed Winnifred Frances Braswell (X), wit. Howard F. Jones, J.W.
