	Braswell, John, 1848 estate file; Feb. CT. 1848, petition for 
dower by widow Elizabeth Braswell vs. Mahala, Thomas, Susan, Catherine, 
Peter, Dorsey, John, Bennett, (Bush), Mary Ann and Margaret, only heirs 
at law, all infants; John died since last term of court.  DOWER LAND to 
Elizabeth Braswell, widow of John Braswell, dec’d., beginning at a 
poplar in the branch then nearly west to a pine Zadock Braswell’s line 
then along said line to the branch then up the branch to the beginning, 
containing by estimate 12 acres, signed Wm. F. Mercer, John Whitehead, 
Kinchen Edwards, Orrin (P. S     iel), Matthew Whitehead, Isaac 
Braswell, Barley Williams, David D. Mercer, Jas. H. Armstrong, Jesse
