Proctor, being a tract which belonged to W.M. Williams and one other tract whereon Mary D. Williams and Maggie Williams now live, known as the home place where their father, James W. Williams, Maggie Williams and Elizabeth Lancaster are entitled to 1/4 interest each and children of Louisa Braswell (May Braswell, Wright Braswell, Heuy Braswell & Lizzie Braswell) are entitled to the other 1/4 interest; the two tracts are in separate tracts, not adjoining and because of small amount of land and number of co-tenants is so large it is in their best interest to sale land and divide proceeds; J.W. Proctor was appointed commissioner to sale land, 13 March 1900; at a sale held at courthouse on 2 May 1900, Mary D. Williams and Maggie Williams bought both tracts, paying $55 for the 27 acres tract and $300 for the 58 acre tract. Edgecombe Co. Estates, NC State Archives CR.037.508.17, 7-7-01.
