DOWER land laid off for Mary Clark, widow of Jesse Clark, beginning in Joseph Prices cornfield then south 55 east 125 poles to an old oak then along Joel Battle’s line 40 poles then north 81 west to Joseph Prices line then along Joseph Prices line to the first station, 21 Jan. 1809, signed Elijah Horn, Willie Horn, Moses Price, Nathaniel Brake (X), Richard Bloxsom, Charles Barnes (X), Elisah Vann, Joseph Price (X), Jesse Brake (X), Permenter Braswell, John Pittman (I), Joseph Horn. ORDER to sheriff to bring Mary Clark and (John Jones) to court to answer to Joel Battle, Administrator of Jesse Clark in the sum of $51.02 ˝ plus interest due by note, date 20 Feb (1806). JUDGEMENT dated 11 Mar 1809 against Mary Clark one of the defendants for the sum of 22 pounds, 17 shillings & 6 pence & interest since 23 Dec 1808. PETITION to Nov Ct 1809 for years provisions by Mary Clark, widow and relict of Jesse Clark, court appointed (Duke W. Sumner), Elisha Battle, Elijah Horn, Jr, and (Josiah) Horn to allot provisions. Provisions allotted were 10 barrels corn, 1000 pounds of ( ) pork, 100 pounds seed cotton, dated 14 Dec 1807.
