Written: 1761

 Coleman, Charles, will date 2 Apr 1761, proved Jun Ct 1761; In the 
Name of God Amen... I Charles Coleman of Edgecombe County being very 
sick & weak in body but of perfect mind & memory thanks be give unto 
god... I give & recommend my soul unto the hands of God that gave it & 
for my body I recommend it to the earth to be burried in a Christian 
like manner... nothing doubting that at the general resurrection I 
shall (     ) the same again by the Almighty power of God... I give & 
bequeath unto my son (Aaron) the feather bed & furniture that I lye on 
and also my rifle gun; I give & bequeath to my daughter Abagal 200 
acres of land on the south side of Beach Run at the upper end of a 
survey that I took up & also one feather bed & furniture; I give & 
bequeath unto my brother Jonathan Coleman all the remaining part of 
that survey of land on the south side of Back Run (probably Beach Run) 
between that I gave my daughter & Elisha Battle's line; I give & 
bequeath unto my father, Charles Coleman all that part of that survey 
of land that I took up that lyes on the north side of Back Run; I leave 
all the rest of my estate to be equally divided between my son & 
daughter, Aaron & Abagal except my stock of all kind to be sold & the 
money to be divided to them; I also constitute & ordain my father, 
Charles Coleman my only & sole executor; signed Charles Coleman 
(possible mark), wit Elisha Battle, (J?? Murphree), (Rachel Coleman), 
proved by Elisha Battle & John Murphree.  Will Book A, page 46.
