Edgecombe County, NC - Will - Webb, Elizabeth-1902 File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by Jo Webb NORTH CAROLINA EDGECOMBE COUNTY I Elizabeth Webb of the aforesaid County and State being of sound mind, but considering the uncertainty of my earthly existence do make and declare this my last will and testament: First: My executor hereinafter named shall give my body a decent burial suitable to the wishes of my friends and relatives and pay all of my just debts out of the first moneys which may come into his hands belonging to my estate. Second: I give and devise to my son Patrick Van Webb the tract of land in No 9 Township of Edgecombe County State of North Carolina adjoining the lands of Patric Van Webb, William F Webb, Elwell Webb, and others containing one hundred acres more or less and being the same tract devised to me by will of my husband David Webb about 1870, but the nature of this my last will that my said son Patric Van Webb shall pay after twelve months from my death as follows: · To my son Speight Webb one hundred dollars. · To my daughter Rody Webb one hundred dollars. · To my daughter Helen Webb one hundred dollars. · To my daughter Ida Dunn one hundred dollars. · To my granddaughter Sarah Elizabeth Webb, Alex Webb, and Redden Webb, my two grandsons fifty dollars, to be equally and alike divided among the three. · To my granddaughter Vesta Webb, my grandson Julius Oscar Webb, my grandson Henry Webb, fifty dollars to be equally divided among the three. · To my son Elwell Webb twenty-five dollars. · To my son Patric Van Webb twenty-five dollars. · To my grandsons, Alex Walston, Wright Walston, and Zeb Phillips and to my granddaughters Annie Walston, Sudie Phillips, Nora Phillips, and Mable Phillips, fifty dollars to be equally divided and alike among the seven. Third, I give and bequeath to my daughter Ida Dunn one feather bed and stead and all of the belongings thereto also all of my hold property. Fourth, I give and bequeath the remainder of my personal property if there should any remaining to my own children to be equally divided among them. Fifth, I hereby constitute my son Patric Van Webb my lawful executor to all extents and purposes to execute this my last will and testament according to the true extent and meaning of the terms and every part and clause thereof.
