Thomas by her guardian, Robt. R. Bridgers state that Mary Whitehead died intestate and possessed of a tract of land adjoining the lands of Gray Armstrong, the heirs of the late Duncan L. Braswell, and others on a branch known as Hornes Branch containing 49 acres; Roena, wife of Thomas N. Newby, Elizabeth, wife of David Bunn and Martha A. Spicer who stated that he knew Reddin Worsley very well and lived within a quarter mile of him. Redding had come to his (Spicer’s) house and ask him to write out his will, which he did. Redding was in bad health and almost blind. Sometimes he was so nervous and tremblous that he could not write.
