	Estate records for JOHN HILL, Dower land of Penelope Hill, widow 
of John Hill laid off by order of Aug. Ct. 1820 beginning at a pine on 
Tyan Cokey Swamp running then south 75 east 50 poles to a pine in 
Proctor’s line then south 14 east 90 poles to a stake then west 110 
poles to a gum in the swamp then down the swamp to the beginning 
containing (69) acres including the dwelling house, signed Charles 
Barns (X), Jacob Proctor, Robt. W. Barns, Daniel Land, Samuel Moore, 
John Gay, Redmon Curl, Jetty Griffin, Ethelred Cahoon (X), Jesse Brake 
(X), Gray Armstrong (X), (   ) Williford.  Other records show he died 
on 27 June 1820, leaving widow, Penelope.  NC State Archives file
