Item I give & bequeath unto my loving wife (Mathew Umphrey) one Negro wench called Diana & my Mulato Boy named Micajah (possibly last name of Beavel) I also lend to her all my cattle that is my and not called my son Thomas Cattle also all my hogs not called Thomas & one breeding mare & all my household & other ( ) such as tools & ( ) during her widowhood or life & then ( ); Item I give to my son Thomas Umphrey 100 acres of land beginning at a white oak stooping out of the Mill Creek & running a direct course to my back line ( ) & ( ) and all my cattle that is called by the name of his cattle and all the hogs that is called his ( ) and on : Item I give to my son (Isum Umphrey) 10 pds in gold & silver coin; Item I give to my son Robert Umphrey 10 pds in gold & silver coin; Item I give to my son Mathew Umphrey the plantation whereon I now live containing 100 acres that I gave before to my son Thomas ; Item I give to my sons (Isum ) & Robert & my daughters (Else) Mary and Patience all my estate of what sort or kind whatsoever it to be equally divided between them at the end of their mother's death or widowhood; Item I appoint and ordain my loving wife (Mathew Umphrey and my trusty friend Joseph Nowell (POSSIBLY HOWELL) my whole & sole exes and it is my desire that Joseph Nowell take into his hands the money that I have given to my sons Isum & Robert and apply it to the use of taking up lands for my two sons Isum & Robert, signed Robert Umphrey (R), wit Benja hart, Benja Bunn, Thos Underwood.
