THE WILL OF GRAY JORDAN

Edgecombe County,
North Carolina
Will Book F. p. 263

In the name of God Amen.

	I, Gray Jordan of Edgecombe, State of North Carolina, weak of body, 
but of perfect mind and memory, thanks be to God for the same, but calling
to mind the mortality of my body and knowing that it is appointed that
all men once die, do make and ordain this my last will and testament. I
desire my just debts to be paid.

	Item:  I give unto my son Gray Jordan all of my track of land, one
black mare, and all of my stock of every kind, cattle, hogs, and sheep,
also all of my household furniture and farming tools to him and his
heirs forever, in witness whereof, I, the said Gray Jordan, do hereunto
set my hand and seal this twenty sisth day of July 1841, in the presence
of us

November Term of Court, 1841

	The foregoing last will and testiment of Gray Jordan, deceased, was
exhibited in Open Court for probate, and was duly proved by the oaths of
James Ricks and Jonathon Bailey, two of the subscribing witnesses
therunto, and ordered to be recorded.
