Petition of John Lancaster, administrator of Prudence Lancaster, dec’d. against David Lancaster, Dossey Lancaster, a nonresident of this state, Polly Moor, wife of Hansel Moor, a nonresident of this state, Nancy Taylor, widow of A.D. Taylor, Martha Bullock, wife of Jonathan Bullock, and the children of Willie Lancaster, viz. Wilson Lancaster and Jesse Lancaster, adults and nonresidents of this state and Lousia Prudence Lancaster, an infant over fourteen years of age and a nonresident of this state and without guardian in this state and (blank) Lancaster, name unknown an infant under fourteen years of age and a nonresident of this state and without guardian in this state, petition states that in Dec. 1867, Prudence Lancaster died intestate and that at Feb. Ct. 1868, he, John Lancaster was appointed administrator of Prudence Lancaster’s estate; debts against the estate amount to $750 or thereabouts; the personal estate of the deceased consisted of a small amount of household and kitchen furniture, one old (horse), seven or eight head of hogs and that the same had been sold and brought the sum of $66.46, none of which has been applied to the debts at the present time; the said intestate by the will of Austin Whitehead took an option for life on 345 acres of land adjoining the lands of (F.M. Barnes) Ansey Braswell, and others with remainder in fee for her four boys, David Lancaster, Dossey Lancaster, Willie Lancaster and Robert Lancaster; that on the 14th day of Feb. 1849, Willie Lancaster sold to Prudence Lancaster, tenant for life, his one fourth remainder interest for the sum of $100 and that by this conveyance the said intestate died seized and possessed of an undivided one fourth interest in said land which is estimated as being worth $300; that said intestate left surviving her the following children and grandchildren who are her only heirs at law, to wit: David Lancaster, Martha, wife of Johnathan Bullock, Nancy Taylor, widow of A.D. Taylor, deceased, all of Edgecombe Co. and James Lancaster of the county of Wilson and Dossey Lancaster, a resident of Ruckersville, Tippo Co., in the State of Mississippi, and Polly Moor, wife of Hansel Moor a resident of (blank) in the State of Mississippi and the children of Willie Lancaster, dec’d., viz. Wilson Lancaster and Jesse Lancaster adults and Louise Prudence Lancaster an infant over the age of 14 years and (blank) Lancaster, name unknown, infant under the age of 14 years, all residents of (county unknown) in the state of Mississippi; your petitioner states that the personal assets are insufficient to pay the debts of the said intestate and that a sale of the real estate above described is necessary to pay said debts; signed John Lancaster, 12 July, 1869.
