All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/nc/ncfiles.htm ************************************************ File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by: Linda Harmon trekkergen@gmail.com July 18, 2015, 9:08 am Source: Raleigh State Archives Written: September 24, 1793 WILL OF BENJAMIN LANCASTER I Benjamin Lancaster of Edgecombe County and State of North Carolina being in a low state of health but sound mind and memory do hereby make void all other will or wills heretofore made by me and do make and ordain this to be last Will and Testament in maner and form as following: 1st: I give to my son, Benjamin Lancaster one hundred acres of land also one bed and furniture, one iron pot and frying pan and pewter 2nd: Also I give to Jacob Boyet one bed and furniture and pewter and one loom 3rd: I give to Thomas Boyet one bed and furniture also pewter and fifty acres of land whereon he now lives, also I give to his son Benjamin Boyet one gun 4th: I give to my son Robert Lancaster one bed and furniture, one pewter dish and four pewter plates, one grubing hoe, one weeding hoe and one ax and two pewter basons and one drawing Nife. 5th: Also I give to my son Eligah Lancaster one bed and furniture, one horse bridle and saddle, one plow hoe, one weeding hoe, one ax and one grubbing hoe also one pewter dish and four pewter plates and two pewter basons also one gun. 6th: I give and bequeath to my loving wife two hundred and eighty acres of land where on I now live, also one mare, bridle and saddle and two cows and calves, five sows and pigs and two ewes and lambs and all the remainer part of my estate both stock and household goods her life and my will and desire is that after my wife dies that the above mentioned two hundred and eighty acres of land I give it to my son Eligah Lancaster 7th: And after my wife departs this life, I give to my grandson Levi Boyet one bed and one gun 8th: And my wearing apparel I give to my grandson Benjamin Lancaster 9th: And this the remainer of my estate as I have left to my wife after her decease my desire is that it should be equally divided betwixt my two sons, Robert Lancaster and Eligah Lancaster. The above named Benjamin Lancaster and Jacob Boyet and Thomas Boyet has all received their legaces in full before his death. 10th: I make and ordain my son Eligah Lancaster my whole and sole executor of this my last Will and Testament. Witness my hand and seal this twenty fourth day of September one thousand seven hundred and ninety three.
