Edgecombe County, NC - Will of Mary Miller, 1802 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ In the name of God amen I MARY MILLER of the County of Edgecomb being in bed sick but of sound mind and memory thanks be to God for the same and knowing it is appointed once for all men and woman temporalley to dye and knowing the uncertainty of life do make and ordaine this to be my last will and testament revoking all former wills and testaments hear to fore by me made. I give and bequeath all my worldly estate in following manner which it hath pleased God to bless me with after all my just debts and funeral expenses being first paid to wit. I first commit my body to the dust. I secontley give my soul to JESUS CHRIST. I give and bequeath unto my son WILLIS EDGETHERED my land and plantation where I now live it being fifty acres more or less and one feather bed and furniture and one colt named Plant ? and one bason and one puter dish and one sow and seven shotes and two two year old hogs and I want my son WILLIS EDGETHERED to take peshon (possession) of his land at my death to him and his ares (heirs) forever. And I leave all the rest of my estate to be sold and the money equiley devid betwine my two daughters MARY MILLER and BETSY MILLER to them and thir ares (sic) forever in testimony were of I have here unto put my hand and seal this the 10th day of May and in the year of LORD one thousand eight hundred and two and I leave my brother NATHAN EDGETHREDGE to be executor.
