	Proctor, Morris estate file 1802; PLAT representing 147 acres of 
land in Edgecombe Co on the north side of (Mercers Mill Branch Swamp) 
for the heirs or lawful claimants of Morris Proctor, dec’d beginning at 
the mouth of the (Watry Branch) then up the watery courses of said 
branch to an ash Lamon Braswell’s corner then along his line west 80 
poles to a lightwood stake then north 54 poles to a pine in Zadock 
Braswell’s line then west 118 poles to a black jack the (Deeded) corner 
of said land then south to a maple in the aforesaid mill branch down 
the various courses of said branch to the beginning, signed Starling 
Waller, (Surveyor).  Edge. Co May Ct 1802 by order of order from said 
term to divide the real estate of Morris Proctor dec’d between all the 
lawful claimants of said deceased, to wit, Mary Howell, wife of Edmund 
Harrell, Elizabeth Williams, wife of (Joseph) Williams, John Proctor, 
Stephen Proctor, Jesse Proctor and Lucy Knight; lot #1 drawn by Hardy 
Flowers in lieu of Edmund Harrell and wife and to receive $7 from #4 & 
#1, beginning in (Mercer’s Mill Branch) at the mouth of the Watry 
Branch at an ash then up the various courses of said branch to an ash 
Lamon Braswell’s corner then along the said Braswell’s line west (38) 
poles to a stake in said line then south along a line of marked trees 
to the run of Mercers Mill Branch then down the various courses of said 
branch to the beginning, containing 24 ˝ acres; #2 drawn by Absalom 
Williams in lieu of Lucy Knight and to receive $7 from #6 beginning at 
a corner #1 then west 42 poles to a lightwood stake then south along a 
line of marked trees to the run of Mercers Mill Branch then down the 
various courses of said branch to the line of #1 then along said line 
north to the beginning, containing 24 ˝ acres; #3 drawn by Hardy 
Flowers in lieu of John Proctor beginning at a lightwood stake corner 
of #2 then north to a pine a corner in Zadock Braswell’s line then 
along said line west 27 ˝ poles to the center of a pine & blackjack 
then south along a line of marked trees to the run of Mercers Mill 
Branch then down the run of said branch to the line of #2 then along 
said line north to the beginning, containing 24 ˝ acres; #4 drawn by 
Hardy Flowers in lieu of Stephen Proctor and pays to #1 $7, beginning 
at the center of a pine & blackjack then west (28 1/3 poles) to a small 
red oak then south along a line of marked trees to the run of Mercers 
Mill Branch then down the various courses of said branch to the line of 
#3 then along said line north to the beginning, containing 24 ˝ acres; 
#5 drawn by Elizabeth Williams, wife of Joseph Williams beginning at a 
small red oak corner of #4 then west 29 1/3 poles to a small hickory 
then south along a line of marked trees to the run of Mercers Mill 
Branch then down the various courses of said branch to the line of #4 
then north along said line to the beginning, containing 24 ˝ acres; #6 
drawn by Absalom Williams in lieu of Jesse Proctor and pays to #2 $7, 
beginning at a small hickory corner lot #5 then west to a blackjack the 
old deeded corner then along said deeded line south to a maple in 
Mercer’s Mill Branch then down the various courses of said branch to 
the line of #5 then north along said line to the beginning, containing
