I Sarrah Ruffin of Edgecombe County being sick and weak of body but of Perfect sense and memory thanks be to god for it.do make and ordain this to be my last willa and Testament--first I bequeath my soul to God that five it and as for my worldly goods which it hath pleased God to bestow me I dispose of in manner and form following. Imprimis? I give and bequeath to my Daughter Olive Ruffin ten head cattle two ewe and lambs, my negro girl Sucky to her and her heirs lawfully begotten of Her body, and for the want of such to my two sons Gray and Lamon. I give and bequeath to my grand Daughter Betty Pridgen my negro girl Pink, she and her increase to Her and Her Heirs forever. I desire that the said negro may not be delivered while the said Betty marries or come to the age of eighteen years. I give and bequeath to my grand Daughter Nancy Sheppard two cows and calves which cattle I desire may be kept on stock by her uncle Gray while she marries or comes to the years of eighteen I desire that all the rest and residue of my Estate be it of what kind or nature soever may be equally divided between my two sons Gray and Lamon, I do nominate and appoint my three sons Etheldred, Gray and Lamon my whole and sole Executors of this my last will and Testament. Hereby revoking disannulling and making void all former wills and Requests by me made and declareing this only to be my last will and Testament.
