Written: 1761

 Sellers, Benjamin will date (3 Jan 1761), proved Mar Ct 1761; In the 
name of God Amen— I Benjamin Sellers in Edgecombe County being very 
sick and weak in body but of perfect mind & memory thanks be given to 
god, therefore and knowing that it is appointed for all men once to die 
I do make and ordain this my Last Will & Testament, that is to say 
principally and first of all I give and recommend my soul unto the 
hands of God that gave it and as touching on worldly estate wherewith 
it hath pleased God to bless my with I give devise dispose of the same 
in following manner & form, first I give to my beloved wife Sarah (the) 
use of the plantation which I now live upon during her life and after 
her decease I give the plantation and two hundred acres of land to it 
to my youngest son Simon Sellers and to the heirs of his body lawfully 
begotten forever and if he should die without heir then the land shall 
fall to my son (Jerhonias) and his heirs lawfully begotten for ever.  
Item I give to my son, Elisha Sellers to value of five shillings.  Item 
I give to my son Benjamin Sellers to value of five shillings and I 
likewise constitute ordain and make my wife and William Dortch my only 
and sole exros of this my Last Will and Testament and the remaining 
part of my estate I do (      ) to be equally divided between my wife 
and (    ) children now living with her and I do hereby disallow revoke 
and disannul all and every other former testaments wills legacies.....

(mark), Mathew Sellers.  Proved by Robert Thompson and William Dortch
