I give & bequeath unto my son John Speir one shilling sterling; I give & bequeath unto my son, Jams Speir one shilling sterling; I give & bequeath unto my Nathl Speir (25) pds VA money; I give & bequeath unto my son Dempsey Speir 20 pds VA money; I give & bequeath unto my son William Speir 250 acres of land on the south side of Fishing Creek the plantation whereon I now live and ajoyning the land of (Catiro & Jas Speirs and one acre of land on the north side of Fishing Creek at his own (ferry landing) in Hallifax County; I give & bequeath unto my son in law Robt Knight 40 shillings VA; I give & bequeath unto my son in law (Frederick ??) & my dafter (Frances ) one Negro girl called Rose and in case the said Frances should die without heirs of her body it is my will that the said Negro girl I give unto my grandson, (Merrit Speir), the son of John Speir; I give & bequeath unto my son Wright Speir one Negro girl named (Dasni) and 200 acres of land part of the tract of land that his brother, William Speir has given to him ... joyning his brother (Neadhim); I give and bequeath unto my son David Speir one Negro boy called Robin and the plantation I now live on with 200 acres only it is my will and desire that my loving wife, Elizabeth Speir shall have the use of the plantation and third part of the 200 acres of land during her natural life without being molested; I give and bequeath unto my son (Kindred Speir) one Negro boy called (Ned) and all my land which I have not all ready given and if my son (Kindred Speir) should die without heirs, I give the Negro boy Ned unto my grandson James Speir, the son of Dempsey Speir; it is my will that my wench called Cate should be sold to pay my debts; I give and bequeath to my loving wife, all the rest of my estate during her natural life and after her decease the part of my estate I give to my three youngest sons; I nominate my son, James Speir and William Speir and loving wife, Elizabeth Speir executors; signed James Speir, wit (Robt Robinson, Daniel Dought, Dempsey Dought, John Flanagan (X), proved by oath of Daniel Doughin, Dempsey Doughin and William Speir qualified as executor.
