Devised June 25, 1753, Proven August Court, 1754. In the Name of God Amen. The Twenty fifty Day of June In the year of our Lord 1753. I George Stephenson being weak in body, but of perfect mind and memory, thanks be Given unto God: Therefore Calling unto Mind the Mortality of my Body, and Knowing that it is Appointed for All Men once to Die, Do make and ordaine this my Last will and Testament, that is to Say, Principally, and first all; I give and Recommend my Soul into the Hands of God that gave it; and my Body I recommend to the Earth, to be Buried in Decent Christian Burail at the Discretion of my Executors; Nothing Doubting but at the Generall Resurrection I Shall Receive the Same Again by the Mighty Power of God, and as Touching such Worldly Estate wherewith it hath pleased God to Bless me in this Life, I give Demise and Dispose of the Same in the following manner and form. Imprimis, I give and Bequeath unto Joseph Stephenson of my Brother Wm Stephenson one Negro Girll Called Pat, She and her Increase to him and his Heirs for Ever by them freely to be possessed and Enjoy’d. Item I give and Bequeath unto Joseph Stephenson one Feather Bed of 25 lb Feathers with a Bolster &c. Item I Give and Bequeath unto Jesse Stephenson Son of my Brother Charles one young Negro Boy Called Harrie, and one young Negro Girl Called Bette to him and his Heirs for Ever and all the Increas of the Negro Girl, by them frely to be possessed and Enjoy’d and Six Cows & Calves with there Increasse to him and his heirs. For Ever by them freely to be possessed and Enjoy’d. Item I Give and Bequeath unto William Stephenson son of my Brother Charles Stephenson one Negro Woman Called Rose and two Negro Boys called Robin & Jack to Him & his heirs for Ever by them freely to be possessed and Enjoy’d. Item I give and Bequeath unto the said William Stephenson my plantation where I now live with the Land thereunto belonging, and all other Lands to be belonging unto him and his Heirs for Ever by them freely to be possessed and Enjoy’d. Item I Give and Bequeath unto Wm Stephenson all my Cattle and Hoggs and Household Goods and Implemts to me belonging to him and his Heirs for Ever Whome I likewise Constitute, make and ordain my Sole Executor of this my last will and Testament by them freely to be possessed and Enjoy’d, and I do hereby Disallow Revoke and Disanull all and Every other former Testaments, Willed and Bequeathed, Ratifying and Confirming this and No other to be my Last will and Testamt.
