NC Will Book F- 1398 In the name of god Amen. I, Nuton Taylor being of sound and perfect mind and memory blessed by God, do this 24th day of July in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and forty seven, do make and ordain this my last will and testament in manner following that is to say. 1st I loan to my beloved wife Lucrecia Taylor all of my land at the place where I now live and her choyce horce and one choyce bed to have and possess her natural life or widowhood. 2nd Then to be equilly divided between my seven youngest children, namely Burket Taylor, John N. Taylor, Crumwell Taylor, Besheba B. Taylor, Redmon Taylor, Mary L. Taylor and Bethelda J. Taylor to be then there heirs and as signs for ever. 3rd I also give to my three oldest children the plantation formerly belonging to Elza Taylor senior and divided as follows. I give to my beloved son Elza D. Taylor one hundred acres of land which he has a deed for, I also give to Patrick C. Taylor land which he has a deed for, I also give to Patrick C. Taylor the track of land called the Abraham Taylor containing two hundred acres more or less. I also give to my daughter Martha Taylor the houses and one hundred acres of land at the place formerly belonging to the afore said Elza Taylor Sen also one bed and cow and calf to be hers then heirs and assigns forever and if either of the three children above do die without a lawful heir then proportion is to be equally divided between the rest of my surviving children, (and after the death or marriage of my wife aforesaid scratched out) and the balance of my stock house hold kitchen furnishings and farming utencils __ to be sold and the money equally divided between the afore said seven youngest children and I herby make and ordain my worthy friend Theo. Thomas and my beloved son Elza Taylor executors to this my last will and testament in witness where of I the said Nuton Taylor have to the last will and testametn set my hand and seal the day and year above written.
