PETITION TO SELL SLAVE to Nov Ct 1813 by Seth Smith & (Priscilla or Drucilla), his wife, Henry Williams (NOTE: by his guardian, Josiah Horn written in but scratched out), James Williams by his guardian Josiah Horn stating that Henry Williams, the father of petitioners (Priscilla or Drucilla), Henry Williams & James Williams, died intestate and possessed of a small personal estate, including a slave named Sam, leaving petitioners and Jean Williams as his only heirs at law; said petitioners ask court to grant a sale of said Negro, Sam, in order that a division may be made.
