CT ORDER for Willis Knight, Frederick Mayo & Frederick Hopkins together with Daniel Hopkins, Esq. be appointed commission to view the estate of Joshua Wilkinson, dec’d and lay off and allott to Nancy Wilkinson, the widow of said dec’d such part of the corn, stock and provisions they deem necessary for one year’s support of widow and family, Nov Ct 1822. YEARS PROVISIONS, commissioners allotted all the bacon and fat in hand, 60 head of fat hogs, 50 barrels of corn, 5 stacks of fodder, 15 gallons of brandy, 50 pounds of sugar, 12 pounds of coffee, 4 bushels of salt, 300 pounds of cotton, all the flax in hand and all the wheat and one sow and pigs, 17 Dec 1822, signed Willis Knight, Frederick May, Frederick Hopkins, Daniel Hopkins. Marked “to be left with Charles Wilkinson.” PETITION of Blake H. Wiggins and Nancy, his wife and Allen D. Wilkinson an infant under the age of 21 years by his guardian, Theophillus Cherry stating that Joshua Wilkinson departed this life sometime in the year of 1822 possessed of a number of negroes leaving petitioner, Nancy his widow and Allen D. Wilkinson his distributees, further state Blake H. Wiggins has since intermarried with petitioner, Nancy, petitioners ask court to make partition of said negroes, allotting to Blake H. Wiggins and Nancy, his wife, one third of negroes and two thirds to Allen D. Wilkinson, signed (J.K. Lloyd) atty for petitioners, May Ct 1823. Ct appointed Gray Little, Danl. Hopkins, Wellis Knight, Jas. Jno. Pippen, Fred Jones or any three of them to divide negroes. PETITION FOR DOWER by Nancy Wilkinson, widow and relict of Joshua Wilkinson stating her husband died intestate sometime in the month of ( ) and year of 1822 and at the time of his death was seized and possessed of a tract of land containing 500 acres on the waters of Ballahack adjoining the lands of Theophilus Cherry, Willis Knight, and others and that she is entitled to 1/3 of said land and asks court to appoint a commission to lay off her dower, Nov Ct 1822. COURT ORDER TO SHERIFF to appoint a jury of men to lay off for Nancy Wilkinson her dower in the lands of Joshua Wilkinson, dec’d on the waters of Ballahack adjoining the land of Theophilus Cherry, Willis Knight and others, signed 9 Dec 1822.
